For certain users to match inbound marketing leads against CRM accounts a straightforward string match may be sufficient but LeadAngel’s algorithm handles special characters, identifies, acronyms and nicknames, and common legal company suffixes common to the business world. Additionally, it also recognizes well-known stock quotes, and businesses that have undergone mergers or acquisitions, and account for regional sensitivity while matching leads.
LEADANGEL’S FUZZY MATCH LOGIC
LeadAngel has created a cutting-edge fuzzy match algorithm over the years that is not only quick and precise but also adaptable to meet various needs. It's not the final formula; in the background, machine learning enables LeadAngel to continuously enhance that algorithm. Accuracy in fuzzy matching is achieved by hundreds of matching rules and thousands of data points. The following are the key areas where rules have been implemented:
MATCH RULES
LeadAngel allows users to select their preferred matching rules through the toggle button. Here are some of the options:
DOMAIN MATCH
A company may launch new websites throughout its operations, and remove outdated ones multiple times. It might even create a domain to guide visitors to the appropriate website. LeadAngel's match algorithm has no issues with a record that has a missing company name but a legitimate business domain. Its algorithm still works for these kinds of searches.
FIRST-WORD MATCH
Many large enterprises are formally listed with different names but are popularly known by some other name. LeadAngel’s algorithm matches largely (not always) based on the first uncommon word. For example, The Federal Bank will be matched as the Federal Dept by the LeadAngle’s algorithm. This option is by default inactive and if you want to use this option you must click on it to avail service.
GEOGRAPHICAL SENSITIVITY – Geo Expansion
The matching algorithm used by LeadAngel searches the entire web world but gives priority to geographically closer-located companies based on different continents. Therefore, if there are several matches, you do not have to worry about verifying results that are geographically far or inaccessible.
LEGAL SUFFIXES – Clean name match
Not all companies share the same names or backgrounds. However, company suffixes such as Inc., Corp., LLC, Ltd., etc. don’t serve much purpose when it comes to matching searches. LeadAngel’s algorithm makes sure that these suffixes are ignored successfully.
MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS
LeadAngel’s algorithms make sure that the companies named after M&A are already included in the matching rules. Just to name a few, the acquisition of Nuance Corporation by Microsoft, the acquisition of MGM Studios by Amazon, acquisition of YouTube by Google Inc is all well known by the search algorithm of LeadAngel.
POPULAR NAMES
Not all large enterprises were known by their current names in the past. For instance, AOL was earlier known as Quantum Computer Services, eBay was earlier known as AuctionWeb, and Nintendo was earlier known as the Marafuku Company. The algorithm used by LeadAngel will be able to identify well-known names and prior names that businesses have used.
STOCK CODES
Many companies are listed on the stock exchanges and are also well-known for their stock codes. LeadAngels algorithm also has the option to match leads based on stock codes. For example, Amazon can be a match based on its stock code AMZN. Also, it applies to name cleaning for stock code expansion. For example, AMZN can be matched with Amazon Inc.
CUSTOM RULE
For setting up any custom rule you have to raise a request to the LeadAngel’s team so that the custom rules can be defined. It can be activated only by the LeadAngel team.
MUST MATCH FIELDS
With LeadAngel, you can configure which all fields must match between Lead and Account for a lead to successfully match against an account.
You can turn ON/OFF the city, state, and country must-match option under the Match Preference section. To add more fields for must-match, please contact LeadAngel support. Once the rule has been created for your instance, you can manage the rule from the Match Preference section.
MISCELLANEOUS
LeadAngel provides other account-matching setup rules, categorized under the Miscellaneous section.
NON POPULAR ACRONYM MATCH
While well-known examples like DHL (Dalsey, Hillblom, and Lynn), IKEA (Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd), and IBM (International Business Machines) are easily recognizable, LeadAngel’s search algorithm is also adept at identifying and matching less popular or obscure acronyms. This advanced capability allows LeadAngel’s algorithm to accurately connect various forms of entity names, even when they are not widely known or used.
MATCH ACTIVE ACCOUNT ONLY
To activate or set up this matching rule, you must work with the LeadAngel support team. This rule applies if a client has to match its lead with a specific set of accounts.
DO NOT MATCH LEADS FROM ISP EMAIL DOMAIN
Many leads in an account can have multiple email domains. Therefore, to avoid error this matching rule is applied where leads coming in with the ISP email domain are not matched against any other account.
UPDATING EXISTING MATCHES WHEN MANUAL MATCH OR NEVER MATCH
When this matching rule is applied, LeadAngel’s algorithm will re-match all matched leads as per the newly modified list.
CUT-OFF SCORE – MATCH SCORE CUTOFF
After applying the filters every entry gets a specific score. Hence you can activate this matching rule to Qualify matches based on the score in addition to the other rule to get more specific results.
